During the use of the motor, in addition to following the operating procedures and paying attention to normal monitoring and maintenance during operation, regular inspections should also be carried out to ensure proper motor maintenance and upkeep. This can eliminate some problems in a timely manner, prevent faults from occurring, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of the motor. The regular maintenance interval can be determined based on the form of the motor and the usage environment.

① The starting equipment of the motor should also be cleaned of external dust in a timely manner. You can wipe the contacts, check whether there are burn marks on each wiring part, and whether the grounding wire is in good condition.

② Check and clean the motor wiring terminals, and inspect the wiring screws of the junction box for looseness or burns.

③ Check the screws of each fixed part, including foundation screws, end cap screws, bearing cover screws, etc., and tighten any loose nuts.

④ Inspection of insulation condition: The insulation ability of insulation materials varies depending on the degree of dryness, so it is very important to check the dryness of motor windings. The working environment of the motor is humid, and there are corrosive gases in the workspace, which can damage the electrical insulation. The most common fault is winding grounding fault, which refers to insulation damage, causing the live parts to collide with non live metal parts such as the casing. This type of fault not only affects the normal operation of the motor, but also endangers personal safety. Therefore, during the use of the motor, the insulation resistance should be checked regularly, and attention should also be paid to checking whether the grounding of the motor casing is reliable.

⑤ Cleaning the motor: Timely remove dust and oil sludge from the outside of the motor base. If there is a lot of dust in the usage environment, it can be cleaned once a day.

⑥ Check the transmission device, inspect the pulley or coupling for any looseness or damage, ensure the installation is secure, and check whether the belt and its coupling are intact.

⑦ A professional point is the maintenance of the carbon brush of the motor. During the operation of the motor, the wear and tear of the carbon brush is a very important factor that leads to the scrapping of the motor. Therefore, when using the motor, attention should be paid to the maintenance of the carbon brush, which means that new carbon brushes should be replaced regularly during use, so that the use can be smoother.

⑧ Inspection and maintenance of bearings: After a period of use, bearings should be cleaned, and lubricating grease or oil should be replaced. The cleaning and oil change time should depend on the working condition, working environment, cleanliness level, and type of lubricant of the motor. Half of it should be cleaned and the lubricating grease should be replaced every 3-6 months of operation. When the oil temperature is high, or when the environmental conditions are poor and there is a lot of dust on the motor, it is necessary to clean and change the oil regularly.

⑨ In addition to regular maintenance of the motor according to the above items, a major overhaul is required after one year of operation. The purpose of major repairs is to conduct a thorough and comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the motor, supplement missing and worn components, completely eliminate dust and dirt inside and outside the motor, check the insulation condition, clean the bearings and inspect their wear. Identify problems and handle them promptly.

⑩ Another aspect of professionalism is the maintenance and upkeep of the cooling fan. During the operation of the motor, a common problem is that the motor produces strange noises, mainly due to the cooling fan. During use, if the dust on the cooling fan is not cleaned in time, abnormal operation may occur. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the cooling fan of the motor is clean.

⑪ To avoid rust on the explosion-proof surface, oil or 204-1 displacement rust proof oil should be applied on the explosion-proof surface.

⑫ When assembling the motor, the wind cover and fan should be removed first, and then the bolts for the end cover and bearing cover should be assembled with a sleeve wrench. Then, a round wood or copper rod should be used to impact the shaft extension in the axial direction to separate the end cover and the machine base, and finally the rotor should be removed. Remove the parts, place the explosion-proof surface facing upwards, and cover it with rubber or cloth pads. Tighten the bolts, spring pads, etc. carefully without loss.

⑬ Explosion proof motors must not be assembled randomly. During assembly testing, the explosion-proof surface of the component cannot be used as a fulcrum for a pry bar, and it is not allowed to strike or impact the explosion-proof surface.

⑭ When dipping and assembling, the insulation paint or dirt attached to the explosion-proof surface should be cleaned thoroughly. Hard objects such as iron sheets should not be used to scratch, but uneven areas can be ground with oilstone.
