Reasons and solutions for low resistance of explosion-proof motors with aluminum shells

The explosion-proof rating of a motor consists of three parts:

1. The temperature grouping for igniting a certain medium is mainly divided into T1-450 ℃ < T, T2-300 < T ≤ 450 ℃, T3-200 < T ≤ 300 ℃, T4-135 < T ≤ 200 ℃, T5-100 < T ≤ 135, T6-85 < T ≤ 100 ℃.

2. The classification of explosive mixtures of gases or vapors is divided into three types: IIA, IIB, and IIC. These classifications are mainly based on the test safety gap (MESG) or minimum ignition current (MICR).

3. The classification of safety levels for the use of different electrical equipment in explosive gas areas (Zone 0, Zone 1, Zone 2), such as explosion-proof motor selection, includes explosion-proof type (code d), positive pressure type (p), increased safety type (e), and n-type.

So what is the reason for the low resistance of explosion-proof motors? How to solve it?

1. It is possible that water or moisture has entered the windings of the explosion-proof motor. Drying and heating treatment can be carried out to quickly dry the windings.

2. Check if the explosion-proof motor winding is covered with dust and oil stains. Generally, a small amount of dust and oil stains will not affect the normal operation of the motor. The winding oil stains can be cleaned by soaking with oil absorbing paper. If there is a lot of dust, a dry brush can be used to wipe it clean.

3. The winding board of the explosion-proof motor is damaged, and the insulation of the lead wire is aging or damaged. The insulation of the lead wire needs to be repackaged. If the damage is severe, the junction box and outlet box need to be replaced or repaired to ensure the safe and stable operation of the motor wire.

4. The insulation of explosion-proof motors ages first, and it is necessary to identify the degree of aging of the wires. If they can continue to be used, they need to be cleaned and repainted for proper treatment. If the aging of the insulation wires affects the operation of explosion-proof motors, new insulation wires need to be replaced.
